FROM EAST TO WEST

Discover the Oosterschelde and Westerschelde – both are wonderful and unique. Visit Oosterschelde National Park to admire the seals and porpoises. Go beachcombing with the kids over the mud flats in the company of a guide – don’t forget your boots! – snorkel and sail from island to island. The Western Scheldt is one of the world’s busiest waterways. This is the only place where huge ocean-going ships sail so close to the shore. On the North Sea coastline, the Western Scheldt is flanked by beautiful, wide sandy beaches that look as though they go on forever. Take a trip eastwards and visit extraordinary nature reserves with salt marshes and mud flats, such as the Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe and Het Zwin.
